DVD HELP plez !

Ok so i bought a 16 X dvd a long time ago for my comp , but i got it OEM and it didnt come with the driver thingey , cant think of the work , the thing that makes it play , and it requires software drivers , i have the sample version of Power DVD , Win DVD and all of that dont work but Power DVD does becuase it has built in drivers , but i dont want to pay 30 bucks for it , and im sick of watching 1 minute of my DVD and then the thing goes "that was your trial" anyone know where i can get something free ? Please help , and suggestions or ideas taken = )

you'll never find a "free" DVD player as the vendor of the player (software) has to pay royalties to the MPEG-2 development group.  this is also why you have to buy the plug-in for Windows Media Player for WindowsXp to make it able to play DVDs...  sorry bro, but you're pretty much outta luck.

... unless you can determine the manufacturer of your DVD player. They might have free drivers on their web site.

drivers are one thing... mose OSs since 98SE had built in DVD-ROM "support" as in it'll read a DVD-Disc... i think he's talking about MPEG-2 decoding software... the stuff you need to watch a movie.

yep that was what i was talking about , but i went to best buy and bought the software sooo .... it works fine now ! :)
