I disagree because most people are aware of google. I have watched people go to Bing and type Google in the search bar to get to Google though *Facepalm*

Was discussing that very statement at work today. The conclusion was people that tend to be less computer literate will more than likely choose Bing. Power users, and people that spend most of their time working with or on computers will more than likely choose Google.

This is very good news for microsoft.

I would say that these illiterate users will use whatever is the default for their browser, never realizing they can use something else.

... the same reason they all use Internet Explorer.

Now that I agree with, a big majority of users don't even realize Firefox, Chrome and Safari exist. Opera don't count because only englishmen and canadians like it.

Wait, idea!

I got to thinking this morning that possibly Microsoft admitted failure to gain news attention. Thus bringing "Bing!" to news sites & even spreading to tech forums like this.

I've been had!

When you do a search for games, movies etc. on an Xbox 360, then it is being masked ass you're using Bing. They even have a separate tab named "Bing". Myself? I prefer google. I spent 30 minutes to an hour to figure out how to set the default search engine, in windows 8, in internet explorer.

Since if you want to use a browser in the metro interface, without starting the desktop app, you will have to use internet explorer : (

Not sure about the US, but in the UK it's quite common to say hoover instead of vacuum. I know it's a brand (which I don't even use), but I just can't help it.

Lots of UK-USA differences
As Gabe said, you say vacuum, we say hoover.

You say pants, we say trousers (to us, pants is underware, so when americans say do you like my pants, I always assume they are trying to chat me up)
You say fries, we say chips.
You say elevator we say lift.
You say mom, we say mum.
You say radical and cowabunga dude, we say wicked (see what stereotypes your tv shows give you!!)

Mom is the funniest one though. The amount of times I have had an American try to insult me saying I need to learn to spell because its mom, not mum!!! I just reply with the question what language do you speak, and end it there

btw, I really do love america, lol...seriously (I still feel that this summary sounds sarcastic, lol. I really do intend to move to america!)

Hoover is a brand of vacuum.

Trousers are another name for dress slacks, pants is a blanket term. Captain Underpants is a series of children's books.

A lift is a shoe insert.

A mum is a flower.

I rarely use "radical" outside of discussing political or religious extremism. I haven't used "cowabunga" in well over a decade. And the use of "wicked" depends entirely on what part of the country you're in.

Personally, I think "toodle pip" and "cheerio" are not used nearly enough. And y'all add too many extra u's to simple words. :eh:
