Im not acually "new" to this but i was wondering if on the main page of dreamincode.com, if you used text boxes and javascript to make 'em change colors to grey and orange? thx lots guys

The drop-down menus on everypage which is what I figure you are talking about is done using javascript and DHTML... but since I aint a programmer, I used the program from www.selteco.com (MenuMaker)
Now if you are referring to the places you type (which now that I re-read your question is what I figure you are asking) is done useing CSS code, here is the CSS style sheet used on the site (cringes as he gives away his secrets)

Just download it as a text file, open in notepad and look, in the code it's referenced by calling class='blah' or whatever the class is.
