We saved a music library from itunes to a usb external hard disk from a computer that crashed. We are trying to get the music, now in m4p fomat, from the external to the new computer. The original computer had windows xp and the new one has vista. We searched apple support and googled the problem, but couldn't find anything that would help. If anyone has had a similar problem or any suggestions please help.

hit the j button 3 times while processing the file transfer and stick a boot diskette in the cd rom

Vista had issues with Itunes. not using vista I cannot comment on it.

If anyone is interested I solved this problem by renaming .m4p to .mp3 . I didn't think it would work but it did.
