I think this is the year of reading Kim Stanley Robinson. I just ordered a massive load of his old titles from Powell's - turns out he's written a round ton of books.

He is now neck-and-neck with Iain "And Sometimes M." Banks for linear feet of shelf space in my library...

I've read both books, now I'll just focus on my figure drawing books by Andrew Loomis.

After hearing Dan Carlin recommend it multiple times in various Hardcore History podcasts, I ordered Niall Ferguson's "The War of the World". So I should be covered for a while...

I finished Water for Elephants last night. It was a decent book. The ending was cute - not at all what I was expecting. But, in the end, there was no real plot - just an old guy telling a story.

Today, I start Child 44. My mother-in-law recommended it. Apparently it's the first book in a trilogy, so it should keep me occupied for a while.

I am praying primarily that Patrick Rothfuss finishes the last book of the Kingkiller Chronicles. My secondary prayer is that it doesn't end like this -- just an old guy telling a story.

After reading book 2, I think that Rothfuss will wind up doing something along those lines... or the plot will actually move forward and book 3 will be either an explosive ride that is exciting for much of it, or the beginning of another trilogy that actually moves plot. I expect it will just be a guy telling a story though.

Aquaman. I know, late to the part. It was pretty good.

Oh dear that comment is for a wrong topic. I am reading Lauren Groff's Fates and Furies. An absolute delight!
