Haha I've kept away from early release chapters since George R.R. Martin let out the 2 chapters from Dance of Dragons 3 or so years before its release saying, "see it's gonna be out this year!"
Granted, Sanderson is a much better and more reliable author.

Well, not currently reading anything other than text books. I'm working on pulling money together(Road Trip!) and I'll probably buy some more George Orwell books. I had read Animal Farm and that was quite good(albeit short) And then read 1984 and that is my favorite book, to this day.

If you liked 1984, you really want to read The Circle. I imagine it's a little like reading 1984 - in 1948.

Oh - I finally finished that other 'Sovereign' book.. yeah that blew about as much as the first. Maybe it is the new young-adult writing style guide, but having to rehash everything from previous chapters/first book to keep some semblance of a "this is my character's motivation" drum beat is just.. annoying.
The ending sucked something fierce.

Geeze, that's brutal. I'll give a certain amount of grace to an author when the story was solid but you could tell they just couldn't quite construct an ending that satisfied them; it's frustrating, but I've never written a great ending to a story either. But that... that's inexcusable. That would be like

Yeah.. this whole 'ebook bundle' has been a mixed bag.. a few just brutal stinkers... some moderately okay ones.. but it as cheap and sometimes throwing caution to the wind isn't a bad thing.

lol
I don't know why but this reminds me of why I enjoy role playing. I played one character for 9 years in one game, and I loved the way his story ended. If it had been sooner, or different, it wouldn't have fit just the way it does. A good ending is as important as a good intro and climax. The parts between are allowed to lull (look at Wheel of Time, lol) but a good ending is just as important imo. I can't forgive a bad ending. Which totally ruined Dexter for me.

have you ever started to listen to a book and the narrator was so aweful you had to just stop listening?

Ha.. no.. I don't do audio books, but I would wager that is a problem.
Pretty much 'if not Morgan Freeman then it sucks'.

Haha I listen to a lot of audiobooks. The narrator for Hunger Games/Catching Fire/Mockingjay didn't fit very well. She had old lady voice, which was kind of dissonant since the story is stream of thought Katniss.
And I've heard HEAPS of Michael Kramer and Kate Reading since they do all of the Wheel of Time and all of Brandon Sanderson's books since he took over WoT. But Kate Reading did the Codex Alera solo and just didn't fit.
Contrariwise, there have been some amazing fits. Wil Wheaton for Ready Player One, James Marsters for the Dresden Files and Vampire Empire. Michael Kramer and Kate Reading are the voices of the Wheel of Time for me, and Mistborn, and the Stormlight Archive.
Funny story: I watched Caprica while I was in the middle of listening to the Dresden Files. In Dresden, Marsters doesn't use any accent - or rather, he uses his natural American accent. Which is what he did in Caprica as well. So his first lines in Caprica are delivered off-screen. I was coding, letting Caprica run and idly listening/half watching, as I often do with shows, when I hear James Marsters. My first thought was to check to see if my audiobook had accidentally started playing, then I was like "is Dresden in Caprica?!"
When suddenly, Dresden
torn jeans, crappy shirt, leather jacket that looks like a brown duster at first glance. Hells bells.
