What's wrong with vi? I use it all the time! That and pico. They're OK.

And what do you mean 'font issues'?! Fonts are like the most important for a website next to layout. Infact I have another suggestion, wait until you hear it.

It's about the font size. I saw the code block uses a 12px sized font. 13px font would look better. Really, it has better letter spacing n makes it more pleasant to look at. (I know it sounds silly. But its true A Courier new size 10 font is fuller and more appealing than a Courier new size 9 font. This is that kinda thing)

Certainly an interesting suggestion...but it's subjective, yes? When you say it looks better, you mean it looks better to you, don't you? I personally have no problem with a 12px size.

Nope. It looks better for everybody. You mean you have no problem with 12px font. But you'll like 13px better. Try it in notepad. 12px -> Size 9 in notepad, 13px -> Size 10 in notepad. Shows best with Courier New.

Its because the height doesn't change between those two sizes. But the width of the letters and the space between them increases a bit. In other words, 12 px font is narrower than 13 px font, while showing no difference in height. That makes 12 px font look kinda 'pressed' together. The 13 px one appears like the text is breathing well.

All right.

Re: A suggestion

I'm often amused by anonymous internet users who feel they're qualified to tell me what I 'will' like better. As an individual with free will, I alone decide what I will like better, certainly not someone who has no idea who I am, or what my preferences may be. Taking that stance alone reeks of ignorance on your part.

Unless you're able to provide documented proof (preferably extracted from a large enough population to generate meaningful statistics) that 'everyone' likes it better, I'll be forced to assume that this just the 'expert' opinion you've developed during your long life. That being said, it is still only an opinion - yours.

Even with that documentation (which I await with bated breath), I'll form my own opinions, thank you.

Well csmanoj he has a point, its very arrogant to tell someone you know what they will enjoy better. No one has the right to tell me that I will like something better than something else, especially someone who doesn't know me from Adam.

Just my two cents :)

@csmanoj: I can't agree with that statement - this thread alone shows that members suggestions are taken very seriously, as your first suggestion was implemented by the site owner, correct? Your second suggestion was valid as well - my point was only to illustrate that just because one person feels a certain way, not everyone may feel that way. Not every suggestion made will appeal to the majority of members - this is a community. That suggestion was based on your opinion, and perhaps many feel the same way...you just cannot expect everyone to agree with you. That's not how a community works.

Given that your first suggestion was taken and implemented, I'm not sure how you arrived at the conclusion that members do not have a say, but I can assure you they do. That being said, not every suggestion made by every member can be implemented.

Well, once I was with this guy, and there were two tubs. One had motorcycle grease in it and the other had peanut butter. He started spreading his toast with grease. Just as I was telling "I think the other tub ...", he angrily pointed his knife at me and said, "Don't tell me what I should eat! That's my wish."

Well, maybe he really likes motorcycle grease. Or maybe I am the one who doesn't know the right tub. But was there any need to point the knife at me?

'very arrogant'?!?! I just said another font would look good! Even coffee ads say that you'll like their coffee better! Sue them!

Well, this is silly, but english is not my first language. What I meant by 'no say' was that 'lets not build this into an argument'

Right there you are telling him "he will like it better", thats arrogant if you ask me (and yes I think coffee companies are being arrogant too)

You were more than giving a suggestion, you were telling him he would like better. How do you know he will like it better? That was my whole point :)

On that note, I do plan on evaluating the difference in font size. However, I will not implement it as quickly as the previous change due to the possible implications (i.e. scrolling, less code on the screen at once, etc.)

Thanks for the suggestions though.
