Because it's an actual observable flaw in that font. Why don't you just open a notepad window and see it yourself? Theres a certain proportion to all the font sizes, that totally changes when you put it to size 9 (or 12px in CSS). It becomes narrow and kinda long. You can see it right there, the height doesn't change between 10 and 9 but the width is very much changed.

And when something is flawed, can't i consider it to be widely disliked? or atleast, can't i assume that people would like the correct version better?

The people with native English language, should bear in mind that there are foreigners that make mistakes in grammar, wording and so on. There are people from different cultures and the ways of expressing are different.
I'm not sure if that was the case here.

Well assumptions are, well we know what has been said over the years. Ive looked at your "suggestion" and honestly I don't like it better, frankly I don't see enough of a difference to warrant me changing anything I do thus far. It may be "flawed" to you, but don't assume its "flawed" to everyone else. One persons opinion does not make it so

I don't like octopus, should I assume no one else and tell them they wont like it simply because I don't?

gah! can't anyone see, when you change from size 8 to 9, only the height increases. And when you change from size 9 to 10, only the width changes. that's a flaw! fonts should be scaled uniformly! In both axes! don't you think???!

And about the octopus - 'no, you shouldn't'. But if you were my friend and i was buying an octopus with seven limbs, won't you atleast tell me to get the other one?? that's what i am telling too! the font ... is flawed.

And I guess this argument should be ended. With the webmaster's response. My profile already sez that I am most active in 'Site feedback'! And i don't like it.

And my final word - My 'Opinion' is that an other size (preferably 13px) would be better for the Courier new font rather than 12 px.

Once again, it may be "flawed" to you, but that doesn't mean its actually flawed in reality. As for the octopus, if you want to buy an octopus with only 7 limbs more power to you, the only thing Id say is that I don't like that crap
