Hi,
I have the following FTP details as an example:
Server: 10.10.100.10
User: dreamer
Password: 12345
When I used FileZilla I can access the FTP site with the above credentials.
When I use windows explorer, I put this in the address bar ftp://10.10.100.10, I get a pop-up asking for credentials, which I enter and this works.
However, when I use IE, firefox or Chrome, I cannot get in.
I use this in the address bar: ftp://dreamer:[email protected]
Please note, this is just an example
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

It gives an error, it requires a user and password.

Then you have something whack going on with your browsers.. I am using FF and type in my site's FTP path and it just prompts for a name and password.

If I were you I'd avoid FTP period. Transmitting in clear text has a very very big security weakness, such as passwords being sent in that same clear text.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but ftp does require a user name & password, & asking for a user name & password is not an error.
