Exactly what do you want people to tell you? If you have SMFL and don't know how to use then, perhaps, pick up a book on it!

Code::blocks is an IDE; as is MS VS 2012. Which one do you prefer to look at your c++ coded in? That's your preference and choice.

From this thread.

nvm .net version cost money.

i just wanted to get started on programming a 2d game or try to but all these tutorials ive found make it so difficult to follow.

Well yeah.. making a videogame isn't a simple process. If you want simple I can give you a host of drag and drop environments. Writing a game is a factor of knowing: a. how to program in general, b. how to break a problem down, c. game programming concepts. It takes time.

i have code::blocks and ms vs 2010 but i cant get sfml to work on either. and i mostly thought that i could just grab some programs and start, i now C++ well some and i just wanted to start trying to actully make a game, just wanted to mess around with stuff, but this sfml and dark gdk has gotten me so frustrated, i think i almost got it to work in code blocks but now im missing a system-d.dll file so im looking it up atm.

Take a bit of time and look how to use it..

Example of SMFL and using code::blocks...

Example SMFL and Visual C++

The problem here is an issue with communicating. Flailing your arms around and telling us it doesn't work is not going to help us to help you, right? I mean we are not there with you to double check you were not skipping a step, have a jacked up system setup, etc.

So... you need to pull yourself up by your bootstraps and start debugging. What happens when you find an error? Have you tried putting the error message into bing/google?

Example:
http://en.sfml-dev.o...hp?topic=4352.0

Speaking of communication - typically punctuation and mostly complete sentences help increase understanding.

well my code blocks can debug and build a regular helloworld program but when i use this one it gives me 4 errors
undefined reference to '__gxx_personality_v0
undefined reference to '_Unwind_Resume'

it does the first error three times

 #include <SFML/System.hpp>
#include <iostream>

int main()
{
    sf::Clock Clock;
    while (Clock.GetElapsedTime() < 5.f)
    {
        std::cout << Clock.GetElapsedTime() << std::endl;
        sf::Sleep(0.5f);
    }

    return 0;
}

There are tons of resources out there that hold your hand in setting up and using SFML. To be honest if you can set up your environment I can't see how you can make your game.
