Hovering on Navigation issue

Posted 17 April 2013 - 12:55 AM

I am working on my web site, and focusing on the navigation links. When I hover on my links I get a small box that appears inside the navigation button with the color I chose, but that is not how I want it to look when hovered. My goal is to change the background color navigation while being hovered without that small box appearing around it. I know how to do this, but it is not coming out the way I want it to.

This is my code for hovering:
ul li a:hover, .button:hover {

	background: #FFF000;

This is my code when not hovering:
.menu li, .button {
    padding:4px 6px;
    border:2px ridge #F5F5F5;
	-webkit-border-radius: 4px;
	-moz-box-shadow:2px 2px 2px #888;
	-webkit-box-shadow:2px 2px 2px #888;
	box-shadow:2px 2px 2px #888;

Is This A Good Question/Topic? 0
