Find access database when program is loaded

Posted 17 April 2013 - 03:03 PM

Basically I am maintaining a gym system and they have one machine where the member signs in and out of and one where the staff member puts the new members on. The problem is the program crashed so I have stepped in to help. The new code transfers all the members from one access table to the original once the program is loaded onto the sign in and out machine but the file locations of the program and access file have to be in the same folder is there any way of plugging the memory stick in and it just finds the one it needs to update e.g. The file name and do the update.

When you refer to "new code", do you mean you've written something new?

If so, is this just an AccessDB with VBA or is it a VB6 front end with an access DB? Either way, if you have the source, you should be able to point it wherever you need to.

For a more specific reply, you might want to expand a little on your description.
