WCF Restful Service Security

Posted 09 June 2013 - 11:44 AM

I am working to implement android app and WCF restful services integration and trying to execute httpget on Restful uri which contains the username and password as the pathvariables in the URI, for example www.mybussiness.com/service/auth/{username}/{password}

I have two questions

Am I good at security stand point with regards to this scenario?

would that be better if I encrypt the password(Ex:reverse the password and send it as the part of the uri) and decrypted the same on the server side and validate them?

Thanks for you help.

Client side store credentials: encrypt(not reverse) the password, send to database.
Client side get credentials: retrieve credentials from database, encrypt the password the user typed in - do you have a match?
