Posted 10 July 2013 - 05:41 AM

I have downloaded this drop down login form from the internet but i can not get it to work. I have changed the two '#' with 'http://jcountry.datingjewels.com/login/' but the login button does nothing. The bottom 'forgot your details' work. Can you please help.

New dropdown login:

<!doctype html>
    <meta charset="utf8">
    <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=edge,chrome=1">
    <title>jQuery Dropdown Login Freebie | The Finished Box</title>
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="css/style.css" />
    <script src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.4.2/jquery.min.js?ver=1.4.2"></script>
    <script src="js/login.js"></script>
    <div id="bar">
        <div id="container">
            <!-- Login Starts Here -->
            <div id="loginContainer">
                <a href="#" id="loginButton"><span>Login</span><em></em></a>
                <div style="clear:both"></div>
                <div id="loginBox">
                    <form id="loginForm">
                        <fieldset id="body">
                                <label for="email">Email Address</label>
                                <input type="text" name="email" id="email" />
                                <label for="password">Password</label>
                                <input type="password" name="password" id="password" />
                            <input type="submit" id="login" value="Sign in" />
                            <label for="checkbox"><input type="checkbox" id="checkbox" />Remember me</label>
                        <span><a href="#">Forgot your password?</a></span>
            <!-- Login Ends Here -->

// Login Form
$(function() {
    var button = $('#loginButton');
    var box = $('#loginBox');
    var form = $('#loginForm');
    button.mouseup(function(login) {
    form.mouseup(function() {
        return false;
    $(this).mouseup(function(login) {
        if(!($(login.target).parent('#loginButton').length > 0)) {

Old login form that works:

<form method="post" action="http://app.sitedomain.co.uk/login/"
<input type="hidden" name="blackbox" id="blackbox" value="">
<input name="memberid" type="text" size="10">
<td><input name="password" type="password" size="10"></td>
<td><input type="submit" value="Login!"></td>

I have downloaded this drop down login form from the internet but i can not get it to work.

there is no indication that your new login form contacts the server for login verification, hence it cannot log you in.

note: the form submit is suppressed (JS lines #11-#13) and the server URL is removed (JS line #6)
