Hi all,

2 days ago i added 2gb ram into my second slot, all was good and now i have 3gb ram, but problem is that my Graphics memory has been decreased?

I had 512mb memory on my Nvidia GeForce 6150se before new 2gb ram,
after adding ram i had 128mb graphics memory,
after checking BIOS Frame Buffer i have 256mb memory.

NOTICE: Frame Buffer has maximum 256mb.

My integratred graphics card has 256mb own memory + 256mb using Turbo cache,
is my Turbo cache now disabled maybe?

I update all Nvidia drivers, nothings changed,
I reinstall my Windows 7 OS nothings changed,
i reset CMOS nothings changed.

How i can to use more 256mb of ram memory to my 256mb Nvidia 6 series?

As you can see it's 512mb gk with turbocache,

"NVIDIA GeForce 6150 GPU, On Board Graphic Max. Memory Share Up to 512MB(Under OS By Turbo Cache)"

Run that by me again? Are we talking RAM-RAM, or exactly how are you adding more RAM to your videocard?

When i say RAM, i mean on main RAM memory of computer,when i say Graphics memory or Graphics RAM i mean just RAM for Graphics.

My graphics card is integrated into motherboard, and it has 256mb of Grahics RAM memory + 256 memory from main RAM using Turbo cache under OS.

I don't understand how is possible that ram of gk are decreased after adding new main ram???

Odd question, but if you remove the new ram you just installed, does it correct the graphics ram issue?

Let's clear a few things up.. when you have an 'integrated video' on your motherboard the ram it uses is your main computer's RAM. It reserves a bit of that to use for video crunching.. you can set that value in the BIOS. That differs from, say, having a discrete videocard installed where it has its own hardwired chunks of RAM to use.. so if you put in a new videocard any 'borrowed' mainboard RAM is freed up.

Go check what your BIOS is reporting.

To be clear - you had 2gb of desktop RAM in. Your videocard was reporting 512mb of that 2gb being reserved for video?

Then.. you added a second stick so you have 3gb of desktop ram in, but now your videocard is reporting 128mb being reserved for video?

From what I read 128mb was the max for that video chipset.

Would you verify your video device actually is reporting 512mb when you pull that new stick out?

-I had 1gb RAM and there was 512mb on Video memory(Graphics memory)
-Then i added second stick of 2gb, and i had 3gb of RAM, and 128mb of Video memory
-Then i check BIOS and set Frame Buffer to max(256mb)

I think that 256mb of video memory is max + 256 mb using turbocache under OS

look on motherboard specifications:

did you choose the right RAMM module, a lot of people think you just buy a stick of ram and your good. no
You have to match the ram that is in the same channel.


When you get a chance take a screen shot of what RAM Modules you have installed on your computer you can do this by going to system information, memory screen shot. Or through BIOS.
Will also need to know what mobo you are using

if he installed his RAM wrong and into the wrong channel then his video card may/may not act correctly
