I have several data floppy discs from Starwriter word processor but unable to read them in Word on my pc, advice please

You may be able to open the Starwriter word processor documents with open office ( wich can be downloaded at http://www.openoffice.org) after the file is open you can then save the file in a MS .DOC file type.
If you want a small version of open office that will run from a thumb drive I cannot reccommend http://portableapps.com/ enough I run Writer off of my thumb drive
It specifies that it can save in starwriter 3.0 - 5.0 file types in open office writer you also have the ability to save in word 6 - 2003 I usually just use the 97, 2000, XP .doc file type for compatability amongst my co workers.
Hope this info helps.

Sorry about my blunder, new to this game, Downloaded Open Office but still drawn a blank, have attached a couple of files from Starwriter floppy disk so perhaps you could try the conversion, thanks
