I think my thoughts are previously in this long thread, so I won't repeat them in their entirety.
Don't let me discourage you from a game you're excited about - I just personally found the game to be full of uninspiring fights, annoying castle-building fetch quests, and insufficient opportunities to play an RPG. I also felt the designers didn't respect my time with all the grindiness.

My neotifa char is gone because I made her like over a year ago. It took a whole reinstall to get the game to work it was so out of date.

Don't Starve and Don't Starve Together is amazing. I think we should get a steam group to play DS Together, as that would be amazing.
