I choose the wild wastelands and small frame trait. (the others just didn't seem to fit, I mean where is Gifted?). Right now I am just tooling around, I might restart while I am still in the beginning after I figure out what I need.
I thought about [Speech, Lock Pick, Science] but I think I need to do more research, I am pretty much a tank when I play, as opposed to a rogue.

Whilst I haven't played F:NV much, I remember that I was usually the equivalent of a sniper in F3. Distance = Safety.

Ah.. this was brought back to my attention: Catlateral Damage. A stellar example of how well unity works on the web!

Catlateral Damage, is a first-person cat simulator in which you're tasked with destroying as much of your owners belongings as you can before they return home.

Wife has approved me on getting a laptop for "school", so as long as stay within the boundaries of $600 +/-50. I might be back to gaming on the computer again.

I finished Alice2.. for a (mostly) platform jumper that shit got dark.. hella awesome graphics, but dark as shit.
I am trying to play Endless Space, but it seems I don't know how to f'n win.. or do much besides click 'next turn' while waiting for fun tech to be researched. Ugh.
Yeah it would be a bummer if you have gaming graphic but no mathematical or logic abilities in a laptop!

Picked up a new game on Steam sale - Torchlight 2. It's a Diablo 2 style dungeon hack and slash. Rather fun, and rather therapeutic.
I'll be going back to F:NV soon though, to start my final game. At least, my final game until I decide I want to play through it again. I've only missed one of the major faction endings, so I'm going to play through as a twat of a character, and help Caesar's Legion claim Hoover Dam and the Mojave.

I picked up the Torchlight 2 Four-Packzzzzzz after my roommate's rant and rave about how "I found where they hid Diablo 3!" He went on for an hour about how great the game was, so I was like "yea whatever, 75% off lets get the four pack and I'll grab some friends."
Big mistake. It's still dumbed way down from Diablo 2. My suggestion for a truly good Diablo 2 spiritual successor - Path of Exile. It's like the halfway point between Diablo 2 (playstyle) and Final Fantasy 7 and 10(progression). As you level you increase your stats on a Sphere Grid style board, and your abilities come from socketing gems. And you can hotkey abilities, instead of only being allowed to use 2 or 3.
I think this is why I prefer 4X genre games. FPS, RTS, 3rd-Person Action, Side Scrollers, everything continues to get dumbed down. Lets not even touch the can of fale that is the entire MOBA genre. Meanwhile, 4X continue to pile on the complexity and difficulty. Endless Space is amazing, what Orion 3 should have been imo. I picked up Brave New World for Civ5 - I love the additions.
I get a rush from feeling like I've overcome a challenge. When I was 8 that meant beating the Legend of Zelda or Super Mario Twins. Now it's winning Civ 5 on Deity.

I see what you mean about it being dumbed down. I'll agree, it is. But, at the time, I was looking for something simple to play, and it fit all the criteria I was looking for.
Outside of the RPG genre, the 4X games are my favourite too. Like you, I love Brave New World for Civ 5. Unlike you, however, I'm not quite up to the point of playing it on Deity.
I've only ever played Endless Space once before, on a demo weekend on Steam, but since then it has been added to my list of games to buy, I just haven't gotten around to it yet.

I just got it installed.. I don't know.. one game down vs a single AI in a small galaxy.. a bit of a learning curve.. a lot of time I was burning rounds for tech to be researched.. unclear how to even win the damn thing.. It might not be for me.. but I'll give the game its due.

I vaguely remember seeing this Omni thing last year, and I guess they are now kicking it into high gear for production now and is actually going to be a thing. Low friction shoes and grooved tracks paired with an Oculus rift make it an interesting simulator in the general holodeck direction.
Did this peak anyone's interest? Between this, the Kinect, and the Oculus we could be seeing the start of a turning tide in gaming! THough.. hopefully not stopping at Gamer-esque uses.
I shudder to think of how crazy leg days would go in Skyrim if I actually had to 'walk' from Riften to Dawnstar! Let alone having some sort of faux sword to swing around..

That looks like I would puke after 10 seconds. I can barely play Fallout without getting queasy after 30 mins.
