Did this peak anyone's interest? Between this, the Kinect, and the Oculus we could be seeing the start of a turning tide in gaming! THough.. hopefully not stopping at Gamer-esque uses.
I'm hoping for full immersion in the near future, like in Sword Art Online (minus fatal security hole) or Ready Player One.

Besides getting sucked into it and dying irl if you die in the game? No thank you.

Thus why I said minus the fatal security hole XD
I like how they explained it in SAO too - nothing mystical or weird like in .Hack, just "theres a security hole in your headset that will let me microwave your brain if you die."

I have been playing FO: New Vegas and Batman Arkham Asylum. I am loving the Batman series, if the rest are like the first I might have a new series to play.

I feel like I would find some way to break an ankle on one of those.

Decided to pick up a copy of New Vegas again. I had it before, didn't care much for it. I thought it was a rehash of Fallout 3 with a new environment, just was a stale experience, I guess. I'm a huge Bethesda fan though. Still playing around in Skyrim and Tamriel (ES:IV Oblivion).

Spent the entirety of last night once again playing though XCOM:Enemy Unknown.
It's just one of those games where "just one more mission" turns into "how the hell did it get to 5am!?"
Dammit Past me, why don't you ever stop to think of how future me must feel.

The same thing happened to me over the weekend. That was playing a new game though. Or rather, a new copy of an old game - Sid Meier's Pirates. Yarrrr!

Was it the original DOS version or the newer remake? Honestly I enjoy both, though the DOS version has the advantage in nostalgia terms.

It was the remake. I think it's great, and was often caught by my gf over the weekend singing along to such sea shantys as 'What shall we do with the drunken sailor?'
I never played the DOS version.

Picked up this game called Paper Sorcerer on Steam. It's...interesting to say the least. It's like the old old style FPS RPGs, but with modern FPS mobility.

I've been looking at that too, although haven't bought it yet. Is it any good? It looks like it should be fun.

I really like it. It's got kind of a Bard's Tale/Shining in the Darkness kind of feel to it most of the time, but also a Final Fantasy/Phantasy Star/Dragon Warrior feel to combat. I'm a masochist and chuckled at the difficulty levels. I only play games on their hardest difficulty when I start out. This one went Easy, Normal, Hard, 1980s. I got past the first combat without dying the first time, died to the second combat then died to the first on my second go. If you enjoy a challenging turn-based game like that, tiit's wonderful.
I'm glad I picked it up. The sarcasm is deep in it as well, like King's Quest kind of gags.

I learned that I may not be fit for games like Endless Space or the Shadowrun reboot. *sigh*
So I installed bioshock 2 and have been clomping around in the watery deep. Oh, and burning hell out of people on TF2.
