Okay, yeah, I've seen those people. I take them as seriously as I took the "George Bush was behind 9/11" people. It seems like sort of a law of nature: nut jobs abound.

I hadn't heard of any impeachment movements that I'd take more seriously than, say, f2k's reflexive diagnosis of clinical paranoia affecting all of those who happen to disagree with him.

Just checking. I hadn't heard about any impeachment movements....

not so Fun fact: my hometown (not C-Bus) is super religious, tea-party boner-getting radicals for the most part (schade!) and they had a protest in town all weekend with giant posters saying "impeach Obama" and had a Hitler moustache on his upper lip.

Hitler mustaches do make anything evil...

I'm betting Obama doesn't even ever hear of their protest, which renders it rather moot?

Very funny.

During the shut down, a friend of mine and I were talking about it. One of his comments compared the Republicans (specifically the Tea Party) to a terrorist organisation, or a totalitarian regime. His reasoning was sound too. At least, I couldn't see any flaws in his arguments.

So, I find it funny that they are trying to compare Obama to Hitler when they are far closer to the Nazi party than Obama could ever be.

This is that irrational paranoia that I wrote about in my previous post. The "criminals" again... No one is out to get you, especially the government.

How about the shooter at LAX? He was out to get people.

& there are plenty of cases here in Akron where 'would be' robbers are shot & killed by shop owners, home owners, & so on. This means only the absolute desperate are continuing to attempt armed robbery. If they knew that shopowners were not allowed to own or use a gun, these crimes would be as high as the murder rate in Chicago.

In German class we were talking about Nazis and the Nazi party when they kept naming things off that they did and I said "oh just like the Tea Party?" Everybody laughed except the über religious Republican in the back (who has a crush on me. Why oh why?) That was when the government shut down I think. He brings up all the time church schools so last week when we were talking about schools when there was a German girl in our class observing. He kept bringing that up and she kept wrinkli g her nose lol. Fun fact, Germany doesn't have a separation of church and state law, but they're waaaaaaaay more separated than ours. And they don't really have church schools. Fun fun.

For a country that supposedly has "Separation of Church and State" , there seems to be an awful lot of it in politics...

Well, it is 'One nation under God', but it doesn't believe in mixing religion and politics. Or, that's how the claim goes :)

I own guns-- many of them--
Am i paranoid-- nope
Why do i won so many guns? Because I hunt and I enjoy shooting guns like others enjoy watching sports.
People who say guns are bad forget that guns have been around a long time but before that people killing people has been around even longer. How easy we forget the middle ages when swords were used to kill each other
---point is people will find ways to kill others just because they can.

That's not too bad then. At least you're not one of the nutters claiming antimaterial rifles are suitable for home defense.

Wait, is this a commercial for DirecTV?

Without wishing to spark yet another rage about gun control (suuuure), guns are made for killing. A large proportion of people want guns for protection against other people with guns. The logic seems lacking here. It could be argued that criminals will get guns anyway, but if greater gun control was enacted (or even guns were banned, unlikely as it seems) then the people with guns would be under greater scrutiny. For example you'd have to prove you had a legitimate reason for owning a gun.

Look at what Australia did, and see how that worked out.

A lot of Senators (mostly republicans) claim that they (alone) are listening to the public, and the public don't want stricter gun control. Looking at this Poll , I'm not sure they're being entirely truthful.
