Dormilich's PDO tutorial is better than the docs, I think.

Google'd it, and I got this pretty neat little tutorial here. Goes through all the basics quite nicely, I think.

There are many good tutorials here on this site. Read them, and spend some time in the forum reading other people's questions. You may not yet be able to help them, but you should try to come up with solutions anyway. Make a game of it: see if you can correctly answer a question before anyone else does. Then when some one does, see if your solution is as good or better, and try to understand why in either case.

Note: When you have a solution you shouldn't just give the answer. You should ask the right questions to allow the other person to find their way to it. This will help both of you improve your programming skills.
