I didn't go into work today. Feels like I got ran over by a dump truck. I need to go out and get more Kool-Aid and tv dinners (fuck yeah bachlorette life) but it's apparently 5 deg F according to my phone. Fuck. And monday, the first day of school, it's going to be a high of -1 deg F low of -15 deg with wind chill of -25. I walk a mile and a half to class from work. Fuck fuck fuck.

holy fucking shit you fucking swear a lot

i highly doubt you will be able to make it 500 miles with a blown head gasket

I apparently have gone 1500 miles on it already. I have no idea how, but I guess there is a failsafe system that is getting the oil around somehow. Just the radiator and heating cores having issues.

you could have just ruined the cooling part of the head gasket thus no oil will be mixed in. I would suggest getting that fixed asap

Yeah, brought it by a Honda dealership on the way home and they said it should be good for this journey. But they're setting up an appointment for me in Knoxville tomorrow. I have to get home today because I'm teaching a class tomorrow at University of Tennessee.

@Neotifa - Might check with coworkers or friends about getting a ride to work. Otherwise you might end up with walking pneumonia or worse.

I have a ride to work, I drive, I just work on campus, and instead of taking the bus to class and wasting 30-45 mins I just walk there in 15-20.

I'm only 19. So I'm only teaching a workshop there that I have been trained to teach. Tomorrow I have 100+ high schoolers, and this Spring will have about 30 college kids. I'm paid by National Instruments though and not the school, so that's the main difference.

Rolled the dice on if anyone was going to be at the office today, because the going rule is 'if the local schools are closed remote in'... by the hum of space heaters and tappity taps on keyboards it looks like I picked correctly.

That was a suckie drive. -10 that feels like -26. ugh. The ol' car was not having much of that first ten minutes of driving.

OSU was closed for the first time in 3 years. It's -5ish now with wind chill of -35. Hopefully it's closed tomorrow too, especially since I have to make the 1.5 mile trek 2 times on tuesdays and thursdays.

Roads were godawful this morning and not even a delayed opening! So here I sit, at my desk, watching the snow blowing like mad out my window and prepping for my weekly meeting with the bosslady.

UK is alternating between torrential rain and brief taunting breaks where the sun peaks out. I'm not even in a badly affected area but we already have localized flooding blocking some roads.

Meeting with boss complete.

I've been informed we're closing early today and will be closed tomorrow due to inclement weather.

I've also been informed that I have until January 20th to finish all 10 of the projects she handed me today... plus have a month's worth of reports done by this Thursday.... all while not missing a single meeting.

New year. Same bullshit. Need more coffee. And a flask.

Whee!!!
