What is the best video capturing device for let's plays?

Posted 01 January 2014 - 09:35 PM

So at the moment I have a Windows Toshiba laptop and would like to do let's plays of games on the Xbox 360, Wii U, PS3, and PS4 but I don't know which capturing device I should buy. For the passed few days I've been thinking about buying the Hauppauge - HD PVR 2 Gaming Edition as I've been hearing good things about it and it's at a reasonable price at Bestbuy, however I felt a little scared off after reading this article. I think right now I'm trying to decide between HD PVR 2, EverMedia Dark Crystal DVR, and Blackmagic Intensity Shuffle, but I'm not sure which one would work best. Which one of these 3 capturing devices would be the best for my situation? Or are there even better capturing devices out there than these 3 devices? Or should I probably wait for a newer device that will be even more compatible with the new generation of console gaming? Thank you for your time.
