Demand for an Electronics Forum
Posted 17 January 2014 - 01:53 PM
Hey all,
There's been some discussion on the official IRC about starting up an electronics subsection of D.I.C, so I thought I would check what kind of interest there is in that. If you don't mind:
1.) Would you be interested in an electronics forum of some kind?
2.) Would you be willing to contribute assistance or tutorials to the forum?
3.) How much experience do you have, and with what platform? (Arduino, Raspberry Pi, homebrew type projects)
Thanks much for your time!

I would be interested in a electronics subsection here. I'll be able to contribute a lot to the community with tutorials and replying to threads.
In terms of microcontrollers (which is probably going to be the topic of the majority of the questions) I have experience with Arduino, MSP430, and the Raspberry Pi. I have a ton of experience, a lot more than with microcontrollers, with analog circuits (analog is my main focus), and some beginner-to-intermediate level of experience RF.
If anyone is interested in some of my projects you can checkout my GitHub repos and I post some awesome photos of my projects and my workbench while I'm working on something at Google+

I would, but it seems the OP is looking for input to build a case to start suggesting it.. not a flat out suggestion..

No doubt, but with all new forum suggestions it's about if other folk are clamoring for one, and I haven't heard much except an odd PM or two here and there.

Where does that traffic need to go to? Apologies if there was a misunderstanding, I thought this might be a good initial indicator of whether or not it was worth pursuing.

@supersloth - while I do enjoy the clackity-clack of some dice, I am not sure if we need a whole forum dedicated to gambling.

Koborivers- general activity on the site. If we see a bunch of questions, discussions, and such pop up, we can consider a forum.

By those criteria, we should have at least two forums about masturbation...

One for furious masturbation and another for extra furious masturbation?
