how to put Proxy settings in putty

i have just started working at some company.i want to connect to linuxzoo.net servers to learn linux command. the company uses proxy settings to connect to the internet and when i put the proxy settings in putty it always gives me eorrror 502 proxy host unreachable

This is probably due to firewall settings. Certainly not a java question, in any case.
When it comes to dealing with company-internal connectivity issues, I would suggest you check with your company's IT department.

funny thing is am part of the i.t department here.. but thanks for your help i try to ask someone here just have to gather up the confidence since am new and all

Following up on what g00se suggested, isn't 502 a web error? Perhaps you can post a screen shot of the error so we can get a better idea of the issue.
