Decided the best way to get funds for the art for my game was a Kickstarter, so now I am setting up the page and hope to get the page all finished by lunch so I can send it out to everyone in the lab to review.

Had the pegacorn demo today. All I can say is <singing> shoot me, shoot me, shoot me in the motherfucking head... shoot me, shoot me, shoot me till I'm motherfucking dead!</singing>

Now they want it to interface with the main campus catalog system so they can just "click a button" and it will "seamlessly" upload all of the course information. Then they want it to interface with the student system so they can maintain rosters of which students are enrolled in which class without having to login to the main campus-wide system. THEN they want it to interface with the Business Office to send over information on instructor payroll and student accounts.

WE HAVE A SYSTEM THAT DOES THIS. WE PAID ALMOST A MILLION DOLLARS FOR IT. What the everloving fuck?

My boss, immediately following the meeting: "If any of these people ask you to add or modify anything in that system - even so much as correcting a spelling error - you send them to me. This is bullshit and it stops now."

Another way you could take it is to leverage a new group out of it, run by you...the unicorn group. And after it's all finished you'd be the Unicorn princess.

Essentially, they want me to create a whole new campus management system... that will fully interface with the one we already have. I want a lobotomy for Christmas this year.

So I got my money from roommate #2 without a fight! I also mentioned he owed cable for September, and he paid that as well. I mentioned this to him before I got ready for work, and the checks were on the table when I came out of my room. However, he was long gone. So I think he's feeling anxious about me, which is fine. I'm not looking to create drama. Roommate #3 wants us to sit down and have a roommate meeting to hammer out an agreement. I'm all for it so the same shit that happened last year isn't repeated. I don't want to be the one cleaning up after folks this year. And it roommate #3 wants to spearhead this, I say let him.

On the bright side- I head home on the 13th until classes start!

Make sure you cover acceptable toaster usage in your roommate agreement

Acceptable toaster usage, dirty dishes needing to go in the dishwasher in a timely manner, cleaning up after oneself in the kitchen, not leaving taco meat and cheese in the living room all over, and paying bills on time. If we can get those under control, the kids might be reader for crayons and a coloring book.

I'm hoping the paying bills on time part is now going to run smoothly again.
