The mind is a wonderful thing. Without us even thinking about it, our brain fills in the gaps.

Yea, that thing is neat. I saw it a while ago too, but it never had the 55 out of 100 stat on it. I tried looking it up to verify the stat and came up empty handed. I did, however, stumble across -this- site where the author has that jumbled text translated into many other languages and also points out that the jumbling of words isn't always so easily interpreted even when you follow the same rules. For instance:

"A dootcr has aimttded the magltheuansr of a tageene ceacnr pintaet who deid aetfr a hatospil durg blendur"

but still...very neat stuff. :^:

Yeah. I've read that when you read, your brain worries about a few letters only.

Can anyone point me to some VB programming code that I can use to decipher jumbled up text where the first and last letter are the same? I think I am dyslexic and need to write a program where I can then upload it to my brain and process strings like Psycho's post.

I know it is possible because I saw this type of programming on the matrix. Since it is in the movies it has to be real.

And before anyone thinks I am asking this stupid question for real, I am not. :P

I'm actually interested in a program that will jumble the letters up in that pattern because I find reading large amounts of text like that easier and I read them much faster.

Psycho.... you heard the man.... its TUTORIAL TIME! How to scramble up words into dyslexic variations for faster reading with C#. Go for it! ;)

Edit: Maybe you can even get dyslexic kudo points! where your 50 will be only worth 05!

The site that I linked above had this

"3) Peter Hebels has made a Visual Basic program for generating jumbled texts. As he says:

I've made a nice open source program in Visual Basic, this program can do the letter randomization automatically for you. It randomizes only the middle letters of a word, it doesn't change the place of the first and last letters, also special characters like commas and periods arent affected. You can download the program and source here:

http://home.zonnet.n...terreplacer.zip"

No idea if it works or not.

**EDIT** I tested the executable and it does work. You can even determine the difficulty of the randomization. Neat!

I can't beleive only 55 percent can read this. I feel special.
Also, im of Chris' opinion, it is easier to read text like that, but I beleive that it is because the brain overcompensates concentration for this kind of task. Its kind of a neat trick though.
