Unable to read JSON from url

Posted 29 July 2014 - 11:46 AM

FAKKU recently released a new REST API that turns any link from their site into JSON by adding api. before a link.
However every time I try to make a request to their website for JSON, I get a 403 response in return. I contacted the website administrator and he was also unable to help me. Does anyone here know what causes the problem and how to solve it?

UPDATE: I just tried doing a request with the Android API using this library: loopj lib and this worked seamlessy...

Here's an image link of some code I tried to run

here's a twitter conversation between me and the website admin

Information on the API can be found here

Soooo... since I am unclear what I can or cannot click to avoid seeing copious amount of tentacles (and their liberal applications) - how about you post your code you are attempting to use, the exact error message, etc.

You know, the basic 411 we like to see in all questions.

this image showed two things that I tried (the second one is commented out)

However I now tried it again using
String json = Jsoup.connect("http://api.fakku.net/index")
                .ignoreContentType(true)
                .userAgent("Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:25.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/25.0")
                .execute().body();
        System.out.println(json);

similiar to the code commented out, and for some reason it works today. I am honestly clueless about why it didn't work yesterday and it works today...
