ouch Neo :(

that's a strange tactic for the electric, I've never heard of them coming to the door and demanding money...I'd call the cops, but that's me. If he's legit he'll prove it to them and that's that but if not he's gone and out of your hair.

Also, there's a state law you can take advantage of that requires them to keep the power on during the winter if you can make a minimum payment. Duke automates the process so it's really easy to arrange through them - don't know who's in your area though. Source: my next payment due on an immense power bill is January 5th, I had this discussion literally Tuesday.

Good news is I can take the cat in a couple weeks.

just checked - I'm wrong - the law is that they have to give you an additional 10 days notice before shutting off. What I'm citing is a Cincinnati ordinance that was implemented after people were freezing to death in their apartments in Over the Rhine 10 years ago...

Oh yeah. Got a new screen replacement for my tablet yesterday, got in all in and whatnot, but when I was doing it, I accidentally pulled all of the ribbons out (I pulled them out on purpose, just wasn't supposed to) now I have to get them all back in right, and they're designed to be just big enough to fit. So now when I cut the screen on, its really awfully purple/green discolored, shakes for a minute and then goes off because I don't have the ribbons in well enough. I hate ribbons.

Gotta say, I'm happy to report that the first time I did a screen replacement it went flawlessly.

The second time, I got a tiny shard of broken screen stuck under the new screen. Had to peel the screen off just to get the one bit I missed.

After that I started hitting them with compressed air to make sure the screen is clear of debris before putting the new one in place.

Pfft that's why.

I don't check my mail everyday, because it gives me panic attacks, and I pay my bills on auto-pay or online. He was there to shut it off, but they have to either hand you the disconnect note or tape it on your door. I had just walked in the door from turning over my things 15 mins before, else I would have came home to darkness and cold, then had to pay an extra $60 to get it back on.

Just finished up with a code review session. I have 3 tickets moving to production tonight. Hoping that this roll out goes better then my first one and I don't take production completely down again. Also hit a big milestone in my project so that's nice. Now it's on to doing a lot of testing, and trying to make sure that I can hit 80% code coverage.

What's "code coverage"? Haven't heard of this metric before...

I know how you feel. I have to get some code up to 80% (or as close as possible) this sprint. So far I have managed an 18% increase (from 36 to 54%), but I still need an additional 300 lines of coverage to get to that 80%.

I am currently struggling since my controllers are going in to panic during the test for strange reasons...

It's a testing metric.

Quote

code coverage is a measure used to describe the degree to which the source code of a program is tested by a particular test suite. A program with high code coverage has been more thoroughly tested and has a lower chance of containing software bugs than a program with low code coverage.

oooo thank you modi, good stuff. Testing has never been my area. I just use testing frameworks and follow the rule of write a test for every function. But the automated test software and manual testing stuff I suck with :/

Every Thursday, as part of a community outreach program, a local non-profit organization is on campus dishing out homemade soup and brownies. I love Thursdays. I bring a side salad with me and have a bowl of delicious, yummy, broccoli-cheddar soup. So tasty. I don't know what group these people represent, they wear no identifying garb, they don't hand out any literature, they just serve up warm goodness week after week. They're awesome.
