It's good that you guys can stagger your visits to the hipster this way. Might get a little awkward otherwise.

OK, I'll try again to state the issues.

There two way to describe what a custom numeric format string is.
  • Any numeric format string that contains more than one alphabetic character, including white space, is interpreted as a custom numeric format string.
Question: What is an alphabetic character?
  • Standard format string Axx
  • A custom format string is any string that isn't a standard format string.

But this further complicated by the possible thrown Exception.

Quote

Any other single character || Unknown specifier || Result: Throws a FormatException at run time.

Which sort contradicts the second description.
Note also it doesn't say any other alphabetic character but any other character. (Which contracts the definition (in description 1) A is an Alphabetic Character

F$ Satisfies Description
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
C (1: No , 2: Yes 3: No )
C0 (1; No , 2: Yes 3: No )
C00 (1: No , 2: Yes 3: No )
C000 (1: No , 2: No 3: Yes) Custom numeric string via description 3
AA (1: Yes , 2: £xception 3; Yes)
^ (1: ?? , 2: Exception, 3: Yes) Should be a numeric string because is matches description 3.
^^ (1: ?? , 2: Exception, 3: Yes)

Wow. My software is nowhere near as misogynistic and ridiculous as a fully submissive, bi-sexual, live-in sex slave/nanny/housekeeper.

Not mine. My software is totally the computer equivalent of a fully submissive, bi-sexual, live-in sex slave/nanny/housekeeper.

At least, that's what my customers expect it to be.

/sigh

cipher: that's why my potato salad is happy now. I was waiting to hear back, and did. There will not be wine, but there will be eggs and potatos this weekend.

I hate being in transition, this job has a whole bunch of cool perks. I have to save the money I have for gas until my severance check and student loans come through. One of the cool perks is that staff here get there meals cheap at the cafeteria, 12 meal swipes for $60 and another is after my first year, all my schooling is paid for by my work (so of course in a year I am transferring to my job for my schooling).

I have to say, I love my job. I am sitting in my office drinking a beer that was paid for by my Boss. In the US that is a bit irregular!

Not that irregular, in my experience. When I was at the screen printing shop, the boss used to make a beer run at 4:30 any time there was a need to have people work overtime. I drank a lot of beer on the clock there.

Also, when I worked for Sam Adams there was a bit of beer in the office most of the time. :)

My brain hurts, I started programming at ~9 this morning and I think this is the first time I've taken a break. On the positive side, I almost finished a complete re-write of an app that the previous programmer wrote (poorly).
