It gives new meaning to the Rod Stewart song- "If you want my body and you think I'm sexy, come on sugar let me know. If you really need me, just reach out and touch me. Come on sugar, tell me so."

Me and this Informix Server are just going around and around while trying to create a linked server in SSMS. At least my razorSQL is up and running.

We are trying to integrate the campus copy center into the IT department.
The copy center is staffed by two people: Crazy Copy Center Lady (aka 3CL) and her supervisor, Resistant-to-Change Man (or RCM).
RCM has been giving my boss fits, refusing to give her access to the paper order logs, he's destroyed the paper company catalogs to keep her from looking up item numbers, and every time she presents him with anything new, he insists he doesn't understand how to do it and refuses to try.
3CL has his back 300%. She will defend to the death his inability to comprehend anything written above a Pre-K level...nevermind that the man is a college graduate and has worked here, in a supervisory capacity, for 20 years. She often invites me out to lunch so she can vent her frustrations about RCM and everything else on campus.
Now, my boss wants to throw me in the middle of her mess because "3CL and RCM will listen" to me and telling me that I "HAVE to be the voice of reason".
Dammit, Jim! I'm a coder, not a mediator!

Sucks. Sounds like typical corporate high-school-style drama though.
Try having an HDI certification on top of the rest
"Dep you're good with people"
No. No, why do you think I quit tech support? I'm good with hedgehogs, not people.
At my last job - the place that sent plain text passwords in http headers? That place? Yea. We had this woman, we'll call her Petty Manager Stereotype, who refused to learn about something that was going to be changing her job 6 months down the road. Eventually wound up throwing an epic fit when everyone told her she was an idiot for skipping every single meeting on my program. I had even attempted to schedule time one-on-one to train her on it. And she got called on it when she declared that no one had made time to train her. She hated me.
So when they brought in the new director she poisoned the well and pushed to have my entire team fired. I'm pretty sure she's the reason I'm free of that place.

That's always been my favorite, "You're so good with people!"
No. I can grit my teeth, force a smile, and be sarcastically pleasant for all of about 10 minutes. Then I'm done, get the morons the fuck away from me before I strangle someone. I'm NOT good with people. That's why I code...so I don't have to fucking look at stupid ass people all day.

FYI - folks east of the Mississip in the path of that storm - it was no joke so watch out. Flooded the piss out of the south west, damn near drowned the midwest with as it threw Jackalopeados at us, and is heading your way. Caulk those windows, and batten down the hatches.
