I wasn't talking about your insurance cards and library cards. I was talking about payment plastic. If you have so many CREDIT cards in your wallet as to make it uncomfortable, perhaps you should reevaluate your money management strategies. Apple Pay isn't going to rid you of your library cards and your insurance cards. They're irrelevant to the topic at hand.

(Side note: my insurance cards are paper and I don't carry my library card.)

I don't go to the physical library often enough to carry it around with me. I buy my books at secondhand shops or use the library's digital lending system on my tablet. I haven't been in an actual, physical library (except work - in which case, my employee ID doubles as my library card...it hangs on a lanyard around my neck, not in my wallet).

Don't write me off so easily, kiparsky, I have explanations. I always have explanations.

Presumably if you do not tie your applepay to a celebrity n00d then you have slightly better chance of not having your portion of the cloud raided. The more interesting will be when you phone runs out of juice during the day.

You have a convincing point there . . . I guess that's one good reason why physical cards will remain a must, and that my wallet will remain large and uncomfortable to sit on . . . :huh2:/>/>

What are you rolling with? A Costanza Wallet?

My wallet lives in the Mighty Mighty Man-Purse (briefcase to some people, but we know that a briefcase is just a macho version of a purse)

I need to get me one of those ;)

Prediction: Google will revamp Google Wallet to work more like Apple Pay over the next six months to a year. It will be less secure, but those who are currently deriding Apple Pay will endorse the new Google Wallet as being more "open."

Prediction: Google will quietly let Wallet starve to death and hope that you forget all about it, as most people already have. It's possible they will try to introduce a replacement that fits the model I described above, but Wallet is already dead. It just hasn't stopped twitching yet.

I'd prefer my wallet be a tinge less open, thanks. I hate that it notified me every few days about using and activating it...

I guess I forgot to use sarcasm tags. The point is that Google will do something to attempt to compete, and when they do those who're against Apple Pay now will make claims like "Google did it first" and "Google's version is better because developers have more control...", "It works on Android and I trust it", etc.
