At the bottom of a blog entry is a button for "Start Comment Notification" so the blog owner can be notified when a reader leaves a comment. For me in Safari, IE and Firefox that button doesn't seem to do anything. Anyone else?

Wouldn't be surprised. I have seen more bugs in the blogging section of this site than the rest of the site pages combined.

Just bumping this bug - Its been 4 months since I brought this up and the comment notification seems to still be broken.
This means that anyone actually writing content for the site in their blogs will not be aware of responses/questions. I for one don't want to be 'that guy' that never responds to questions on his own posts - just because I wasn't aware a question/comment was ever posted.

The blog system is pretty broken. There is nothing I can do about it.

Sorry for how this sounds but... Its a pretty sad commentary on a development web site that can't fix a broken feature that used to work. How well does that reflect on the advice we give or the quality of people here?

At the very least can the comment area on the blog posts themselves be removed? If we can't get notification then let's not have comments that SEEM like someone will see them. I really don't want to have to sign-off every blog entry with

There are a lot of things on this site that are broken that shouldn't be. I don't have access to the blog settings on the admin side. Short of a site upgrade, we're stuck with the blog system. It sucks, but there isn't anything I can do about it. I apologize for it being a pain, and I wish there was more I could do.
