Visual Studio Community IDE

Posted 15 November 2014 - 03:36 AM

Does anyone have any experience with this?

Visual Studio Community 2013
A Full-Featured IDE - FREE

It's a huge install and I'm a little reluctant to un-install Express 2010 from my laptop if this new version isn't fully formed and, in particular, slow.

You shouldn't have to uninstall 2010. Visual Studio editions have always run side-by-side quite well.
I've been running VS 2013 ultimate since it came out and am very happy with it, so you should have no problem.
2013 isn't really the 'new' version. VS2015 is in Community Tech Preview.

I keep CTP versions in a virtual machine, just to keep it separated from my real OS until it is out of the development stages and in retail release.
