I quit once, for three years, started back up for a year, and quit again about a year and a half ago. I wish I could tell you I don't have the urge to smoke, but that would be an absolute lie. If there's one thing I've given up in this life that I miss more than all others, it's smoking. But I did it, I quit. My best friend and I have a pact that if we outlive our significant others, we're going to get a place together and chain smoke Camels till the end of our days.

I've been pursuing a number of job opportunities through the career services website at school. I just got an email from a potential employer inviting me to pursue the next step! It's a strategy analyst position, so it should make use of my economics and game theory background. We'll see where this goes.

I heard a bit about grad school as well this week. Nothing is written in stone, but I hope I will have good news to share next week or so!

Really? I had thought of trying to get tickets and taking my parents but I heard it was just Roger Taylor and Brian May. They're all critically important - without Freddie's voice and Deacon's bass it seems - to me - like it would be similar to seeing the Dead Kennedys or Sublime.

But I'm glad to hear it was good! Now I kinda wish I'd gone. But that show was in Detroit, and I was able to see the Offspring and Bad Religion here in town a couple months later.

Guess I should have said I saw Queen with Freddie Mercury eh

Menu Today:
Tech Forum with the Bosses' Boss. That means grass root meeting.

Then on to fixing a weird email issue.

B9=> The year before last I had quit for like 8 months then stupidly picked up a cig in March of last year. My wife is going to quit this weekend (turns out trying to quit together was a bad idea, since we sniped at each other the whole time). So by Tuesday we should be smoke free completely.

Down to the final minutes of the hack-a-thon for work. Over the last 48 hours, I have spent more than 24 at work. Learned a lot though: How to create a REST API, what models (in MVC) are good for, how to integrate AngularJS front-end with a REST back-end and get it working properly, and the basics of Bootstrap.

New site launched. Now the department in charge of it is flipping out over spelling errors. I TOLD them their text copy sucked and they needed to proof read it. Don't listen to me, that's fine... no one else listens to me either.

Melodrama warning...

Indeed. This is the same guy who managed to talk the administration into imposing campus-wide gender-based restrictions on all activities so he could bring an Orthodox Jewish boys camp on campus for the entire summer.

Women were restricted in where we could go, what we could wear, who we could speak to. Dorm staff had to move out of their apartments. It was messed up.

But this is the same guy. Needless to say, I'm not exactly his biggest fan.
