downloading youtube videos?

Posted 05 November 2007 - 05:43 PM

Don't post telling me to get an FLV converter becuase they all suck.

I just want to know how to get a video without having to mod grease monkey or copy and paste a link on a sketchy website.

Do you have FlashGot?

You can use it to download videos off any site. It is in .flv format but that is only because its the format the videos on youtube are.

There was one earlier in the Databases Forum where someone replied to a 7 year old thread!

Not to reply to a zombie thread, but if you have a decent movie player there's no need to convert it. Mplayer has been able to play FLV's for some time now, and I'm pretty sure Xine and VLC can now too. :)

Hi! I usually download youtube video files using keepvid.com It offer us to download the youtube video files in 2 mode of file, flv (for low quality) and mp4 (for high quality). For download the video is very simple, just copy and paste the video's URL that you want to download in the box and click the "Download" button. And don't forget to put ".mp4" or ".flv" when you save the file. Hope this is useful for you. ^^v (Peace)

Wireshark enables you to save and rip videos from youtube directly to you computer. Of course they are in FLV, and I know the majority of the converters suck, but if this is a one time thing there are some really good 30 day trial converters which worked very well for me.
