Please could I have some feedback on my first responsive theme?

Posted 09 February 2015 - 12:09 PM

I'm a programmer trying to get better at UI design. I've built a site that I'm using to design a responsive theme. The content is random text that I copied from one of my other sites, I just built this site so that I could get feedback on the theme. You can check it out at Redditch Rocks

It's intended to be an approximation of an HTML5 site. I'm using the HTML5 section tag, but apart from that there isn't much HTML5 code in my template. I'm using my own CMS called Pyplate, which I'm in the process of updating.

Any thoughts on how I could improve the theme would be appreciated. I'm particularly interested in improving responsiveness, but any ideas would be appreciated.

Is This A Good Question/Topic? 0

This isn't really responsive. If I resize the browser to mobile device measurements nothing in the site actually reformats to a more mobile intuitive design.

Thanks for answering. The layout changes in my browser (Chrome) when I resize it. The sidebar appears below the main content, and the sizes of various elements change. I tested it on different devices emulated by Chrome Developer tools.

Which browser are you using?

Me too. Which pages are you looking at? Perhaps I haven't done enough to resize the banner on smaller screens.

Would you mind taking another look? I've made a bunch of changes to my site. The nav bar at the top of the page is now hidden on smaller screens, and I've changed the banner on smaller screens. I also moved the sharing buttons to the bottom of the page.

I checked it on Opera and Chrome and looked pretty good to me.

Menu's collapsed when I went down to Mobile size using the standard bar display and the site looked appealing.

You have several security issues and are vulnerable to click jacking

Thanks for the heads up. I guess I can use Content-Security-Policy headers to reduce the risk of click jacking.

What other vulnerabilities did you see?

FYI: Content-Security-Policy is not where you handle click jacking. It is with X-Frame-Options.

You have several files that reference a non-existant file: pie.htc

As far as security: You are advertising that you are using Ubuntu with Apache version 2.4.7 or nginx ver 1.2.1 or both,

That your using Pyplate which has known vulnerabilitys (http://www.cvedetails.com/vulnerability-list/vendor_id-13579/Pyplate.html)
