Help Installing Android Studio

Posted 12 February 2015 - 07:06 PM

Hello. I currently work on a Windows 7 laptop which has Java 1.6 installed on it. I want to start creating Android Apps and found out I'll need to download and install Android Studio. I'm wondering when I download and install Android Studio, if that will interfere with my current Java Development Kit Environment. Do I have to do anything special before installing Android Studio? Will my current java programs still work after Android Studio is on my computer?
Just a little apprehensive and in need of a little guidance here. Would appreciate an answer as soon as possible. Thanks!

P.S. I don't use Eclipse and still do not want to use it. Prefer to use a text editor like Notepad.

It shouldn't.

Follow the install instructions.. you would have to go out of your way to bork your java environment.
