Forum Restructuring

Post icon  Posted 21 June 2015 - 01:28 PM

We have recently made some changes to the forum structure on DIC. The changes are listed below:
  • Based on the consistent activity in Assembly and misplaced questions in Other Languages, we have made Assembly a top-level forum so folks can find it easier.

  • We have removed the Challenges and News/Articles Forums. If there was an Advanced Discussion subforum, then Challenges and News/Articles were merged in with Advanced Discussion. Otherwise, they were merged in with the main help forum. The Advanced Discussion forums have been renamed to Discussion Lounges to promote a more casual atmosphere for folks to discuss about the language/technologies, participate in challenges, and share links.

  • The Objective-C forum has been moved to the Mobile Development forum and renamed iPhone/iOS Development. A link in the C/C++ forum was left indicating Objective-C questions belong in the iPhone/iOS Development Forum.

  • The Java Forum now links to the Android forum.

We hope these changes will make DIC more accessible for everyone. We also hope everyone will enjoy the more casual Discussion Lounge vibe rather than the old Advanced Discussion style.
