Connection issues on old vb6 game

Posted 03 July 2015 - 06:22 PM

Hi :) I'm a complete tech nub and I have an issue with an old VB6 multiplayer game called RPG World Online. This is an old game and I've had other worlds with it and never encountered this issue.

THIS world has issues between the player client and the Server. It times out after they put user/password and hit ENTER. Some get in, some don't. If you don't get in, it gives a white screen and freezes up. I am using HFS Http file server on a different port and it is working fine. The issue is ONLY with the Server which is on its own port. In game you have to move or perform a task for the chat to update (that's not normal) and same thing for you to see other players or tames move (that's not normal either) and even this issue is not 100% all the time. There is NO LAG in game other than that. No more than 10 at a time have been able to get on or it starts Winsocking people off. It is usually more like only 6 can get on. The game itself is error free and running as intended. The Server was released to the public, the hard code was not. I am running it through the creator of the games connection which then sends you to the host of this world. So, just to clarify, people ARE on and playing just not everyone that wants to. It's like it gets clogged up and starts booting for lack of a better way to describe it.

It is on Windows 2008 r2, dedicated VPS, LAN, quad core, 8 gbs RAM.

Maybe this will help:
