Interesting you are going with Linux while learning .Net.

Yeah, but eventually I would like to switch back to learning C++, once I'm a bit more comfortable with C#, because I already started with C++ and I would like to do more with Linux systems. Sometimes I do a couple things at once, but I eventually get the hang of it :)/>.

that's a good point...although you can run .net on a Linux box. you going down that road because of licensing fee's ChrispyChris?

Actually no, I'm just going with Linux because it's something I'm interested in learning now, and I've been playing around with it a little bit for a short time now. It seems really powerful and if I can learn it while getting my server to do what I want, I figured why not. I know it's not the easiest thing to pick up, but so far I'm doing okay with it. Getting my CLI down and trying to remember the most important commands. I'm reading up on permissions and stuff. Got my Samba sharing to work with my Windows machine and also am able to SSH into the laptop. Trying to get as ready as I can for when the server shows up :)/>.

In the end, I'm just having a lot of fun learning this stuff!

I think the idea of the probabilistic method is starting to click. I believe I have the idea of how to show with high probability that a graph in G(n, d/n) (for some constant d) has no vertex belonging to more than one triangle. Random graphs was a good topic for a self-study this semester.

So went and saw some of my friends bands play over the weekend at an awards showcase - 2 of them were up for "Best New Band" by CityBeat. One got forcibly ejected from the show and banned from ever returning. Hahaha.

My thoughts...

Pre-show: I want to be on that stage next year

During show: These are the best we've got? This is gonna be easy.

Post-show: I want to get banned from that stage next year!

I bought an XBOne on Saturday. I also bought GHLive on Saturday. Then I proceeded to not be a person for the rest of the weekend.

Programmed and played with Linux all weekend, then went out with the girlfriend yesterday. Now I'm about to be on my way to work to run some Windows 10 updates on more computers! I'm finally getting my haircut today too, thank the Lord!

I was just glad to see that the Seahawks lost. Not that I am still holding a grudge from 2 years ago or anything... I am not sure that the Broncos have what it is going to take to win the Superbowl (or even make it to it) this year though.

I am doing a WFH today, and the rest of my family went to see Star Wars (though I wasn't too impressed with it when I saw it last Thursday).

I also recently got a Pilot Elabo fountain pen, and am planning on getting some Sailor Kiwa-Guro Nano ink in it (their "very black" carbon suspension ink that is supposed to be permanent) later today. I will be pretty excited to see how that works out! I also wound up ordering a "blue pumpkin" nib and nib holder to play a bit with calligraphy.

I don't really care one way or the other, really. I tend to root against the Bengals, because fuck them - unless they're going against the Stealers, cause fuck them more. And I root for the Lions, because Detroit > Your city.

Otherwise it comes down to really irrelevant shit. Like in the above, I don't know which team is which, but I'd be cheering for the team in red because I like red more than yellow.

Typically the hierarchy is: team, division, and conference with the exception of grievous bad blood that requires liberally poured pitchers of hateraide.

I've linked to it before, but this is a good resource for calligraphy:
Lloyd Reynolds' Italic Calligraphy & Handwriting: Episode 1...

His little book on the italic hand is also excellent, and generally available even though it may be out of print.

Ah, see the order of my favorite teams is pretty simple:

Pros:
Broncos
Vikings

College:
Crimson Tide

After that it is about what teams I don't like most, and this year it is pretty easy (and as such root against):

Pros:
Seahawks
The Bengals and Steelers will likely be on this list next year given how poor of sports they were when they played each other.

College:
< I don't actually have any teams I hope will lose >

I'll add to the F The Seahawks hate, but it's mostly because they're in our division. I wanted Cam Newton to get broken down all season and stop the shitty dancing, so it looks like we're going to have to do that ourselves next weekend. They beat us in the playoffs last year, but that was against our third-string quarterback. This time around we're almost at 100%. I'd like the honey badger to be on the field, but we'll need to do it without him.

Sweet! Came in to work today and I had managed to remotely repair my Gnome over the weekend (without having a desktop available). That makes my week a TON better :)
