Went to the North Market for my party. Got some pad thai, bubble tea, and tasty treats. They also gave me a card with a crap ton of money in it. I'm trying not to cry. ;_____; This is the first time I got a going away party.

A customer who is a software administrator for the Air Force is in our office this week and took the opportunity to tell us that our product is the best one he's ever seen in that class, and gave us a shiny new plaque for the wall in recognition of 13 or so years of developing courseware to train airmen. I'm going to need a new traveling hat because we're going to go out and pitch our online product to all departments of the Air Force to replace the existing one. That's what I'm talking about. In related news, we're talking about moving into a data center with a 10gbps connection for our servers. The Air Force will need it I think.
This makes me happy because I designed and developed the entire first version of the current product, I had been working on it for maybe 2 years before we hired another programmer to help. I can't take full credit for the current version, but it's definitely a point of pride.

Damn, this is just Good Stuff Friday. Keep it coming, people!
Here's mine: one of our exiting interns who came in to work on the video team (yeah, we've got a video team... shut up) just came over to thank me for the linkedin recommendation, and told me she's going to finish up her degree in the CS department. I feel like I can take some credit for helping her get to that decision, and she's pretty excited about it, so I guess I done good.

I am determining if it is okay to just gnaw on my meat (won at the Polishfest at St. Stans! Woohoo!) all weekend long or that will give me gout.

That looks delicious. The salami doesn't look bad either.

Everybody loves having some hard salami in their lives.
If you don't have a history of gout, you are probably fine. I found out towards the end of High School that my daily intake of salt was something like 8x more than recommended -- I haven't had gout yet.

My TA position got better! Originally, I was committed to 20 hours a week for Intro to Java as a lab TA. This meant TAing two lab sections and handling the grading. Now, I am committed to 10 hours for Intro to Java (TAing one lab section), and 10 hours for Theory of Computation! I'm excited to be able to talk math with folks for ten hours a week!

That is typical. I am waiting to push my latest project ti the live server, not to deploy it, but to run it against live data for testing... And the live server keyholder has another hour before they get in.
And then, I get to explain that one of my current requirements just isn't possible from the research I did over the weekend.

First day on bench. I can't get the site to reserve cubes up so I'm crashing someone's cube until they kick me out. There's only 3 people in the office, and the lights are still off, which is nice. I prefer the lights to be out tbh.

I'm so sore from this weekend. It was the most physical exertion that I've output in a long time. Friday was taking care of Chelsea and Jaelynn and Emma because they were sick. Saturday starting at 8:30 in the morning till 4:00 in the evening I was helping my parents move to their new house. Then Sunday I finally got to relax for a bit.
