Who wants to be a beta-tester for my website?

Posted 17 September 2015 - 11:42 AM

Hi everyone

I made a simple and easy webapp for posting tech-reviews. Then the website gives you a nice ranking of those products.
Problem is, I have no members yet :/ So I am looking for people who want to mess around and try out my website!

Any comments are welcome! ======> www.techcrusher.org <=======

Thanks to everyone who wants to participate!

Forced 'cookies or nothing' is a suckie policy.

http://www.techcrusher.org/images/
isn't locked down.

Your home page doesn't explain what the site is.

Your 'about' page.. aka 'how does it work' doesn't need to be buried in the footer.

I am figuring you paid for that stock image/wallpaper, right?

Not a whole lot of an inticing reason to participate, want to participate, or see the benefits of doing that. I probably wouldn't come back.

Hi

It's because I have a free host for the moment that cookies are forced. The wallpaper was free for commercial use and didn't require any references to the maker. Thank you, you're right that I don't need to bury the about page in the footer, I will change that. I will also have to lock down that image folder. But also, because nobody reviewed anything yet, nothing appears on the home-page. It would look a lot more attractive if there was some movement. I also realise that the site depends on the SEO out of reviews that are posted on it. So my big problem is to get those first members I figure...

So I went ahead and left a review. I do like the layout of the website, your images are still open though.

I placed the 'how does it work'- link more visibly on top of the website. I haven't been able to lock down the image-folder yet because my host doesn't allow .htaccess. I believe this isn't a really big issue for the moment, but I will change it the moment I move to a paid host.

For now, I probably should focus on doing some social media to build members. But really, thanks again ybadragon and the other one who left a review! After months of developing in my free time, those 2 reviews really made my week :D
