ok, my computer is pretty damned loud, mostly due to the thermaltkae volcano6cu+ on the amd chip. the case is alumninum the whole thing except for the face plate. what im wondering is, is there a place where i can get something to put around the inside of the case, or something like that to quite it down?

No prob, mano... maelstrom's are pretty new to the market, aren't they? I haven't read much about variable fan controllers much, so be sure to post a review!

why worry about the sound? just get some headphones or turn the stereo up louder!
seriously, i'm runnin' 12 fans in Wintermute & never even hear the machine (except boot up) why is it that everyone complains about the noise so much (got kicked outta my bro's house 'cause his wife couldn't take the machine noise anymore (which was booted up 'atleast' 1 1/2 hours after they went to bed)).
a Jaz drive, yes. a CD-R, maybe, but case/heatsink fans? they just don't make that much noise! please, enlighten me (speak loudly, i can't hear quite right out of my left ear
)

yeah, my cd-rom drive has been getting louder lately
and its having trouble reading my audio cd-s too
strange thing is my external cd-writer is quieter (and faster) then my internal. I'm running 4 fans in my comp, and the noise is not a bother. Like objekt said, just get phones, or play C$. a little or alot of whirring never hurt anybody

cause i live in a medium size house where my parents like me to keep the music at a level they can't hear it. and to give you an idea of how loud it is, over my crappy speakers, i still hear the computer when the music is at max, and im not even allowed to keep em at max. :-\

I think it's the whole thing about people being pedantic about what they can and can't hear.
I can't sleep without my PC on and the case off (aroooooogah arooooooooooooooogah geek alert) but my Dad can hear it from his bedroom right on the other side of the house. Hehehehe
Some people are just weird like that.

Bah... Josh... Bah... My case breaks OSHA limits.
I can hear it on the other side of my house. Yeah. 4 120mm Sunons are great fun.
