ipod and media player 10 problems

Posted 03 December 2007 - 01:57 AM

Hey all,

I recently bought myself a Ipod nano. But even before I bought it and played with Itunes I started having a problem where everytime I ripp/import music to my PC via Media Player 10 (and now Itunes as well) from a cd, there is this interference in my music. It happens at different intervals. The music gets stuck for a quick couple hundreds of a second and keeps on playing and then after a while it does the same thing. It is F^&*%ing irritating.

Just want to know if anyone has had a problem like this and suggestions to remedy it. I don't want to buy a new CD/DVD Drive and the problem remains.

regards,

regards,

I would try using your drive in another computer, or another drive in your computer. If you can rule out the drive, by proving it is in good working condition, then it could be possible that you are running too many processes the computer is using mostly swap space. You could also watch the task manager while you are ripping the audio, & see if the CPU usage spikes when these interferances occur.

No2Pencil . . .

I thought it could be those two things, now I just have to get another drive and test it. Then as you say if the problem still persists then I will have to check the task manager.

One thing though, I did check the task manager and explorer seemed to spike and different intervals with another program running in the background.

If it ain't my drive, re-installing the computer from scratch may seem to be a good idea as I have done this quite a long time ago . . . .

Thanks

I really think it is your CD drive, my CD drive recently started screwing me over. when i was playing a game(AOE2-x1) it would start lagging and the drive sounded like it was working really hard. Well i got a new drive and shoved it in there and voila, the lag is gone. Just make sure it isnt an old dying drive by asking one of your friends for theres. Or if yuor parents have a second comp they use or soemthing, use one of the drives from that.

Warning : If purchasing a new drive, do not go cheap. Make sure not to get the most expensive, but not the cheapest. Some drives can get very loud i have heard
