How to create a custom window that is not a "form" in C#?

Posted 25 December 2015 - 04:24 AM

Hey guys, I'm currently trying to create a knockoff of the "KeepFocused" app for time management [https://keepfocused.codeplex.com], but I can't figure out how to make the small black rectangle (pic attached) that will run when the timer is on.
Whenever I create a new form in Visual Studio, it forces me to have the X, minimize and maximize buttons, the top part of the window etc.

Is there a way I can just crate a simple black box with custom buttons, like in pic attached?

Thanks :)

Did you try changing the form border style?

Did you take time to look at the source code of keepfocused to see how they did it? (Hint: They also changed the border style.)
