Problem displaying capital letters in the middle of a word

Posted 02 February 2016 - 12:17 PM

I have noticed that for some reason certain words do not display upper-case letters in the middle for instance: Selectionchanged and Selectionstart. I wrote these right here with "changed" and "start" parts capitalized, yet, on the displayed post those are all in lower-case, at least for me. If I quote or edit a post which contains them, the upper-case letters do show in the text box. Yet for instance SelectionLength displays as intended.

I'm not surprised. There's all kinds of little bugs like that that on this site. View source for this page and look for this post: "RegularExpression". Notice that it's jacked up the word Expression in the HTML source. Looks like this:

RegularExpression

Another one is when you type something like (x) but, replace the x with a b. It thinks you have added the B) smiley instead which is indicated by the B and the ) characters in a post.

Testing: (B)

You can disable emoticons in the post options to get around that one.

I noticed all 3 of these flaws with the Selectionchanged, RegularExpressions, and the (B) in about the first year of being a member. I figured they have been known for a while and just never got fixed/changed.

I did notice i could turn off emoticons in the setting. Maybe i will try it. I don`t run into that problem very often because i know it happens and just avoid it.

You still get a new member here and there that will re-post there code or question several times before figuring out that it is not a mistake on their end.
