New but happy to learn

Posted 07 February 2016 - 08:39 AM

Hi

Name: Michael

I am very new to the world of coding. My main aim is to learn how to write scripts that can automate web tasks whilst following a set alogorithm, amongst other things.

I'm happy to be here and I hope to learn lots!

PS If anyone has previous experience with the above or can direct me to the correct threads/areas on this forum I would really appreciate you replying. Thanks

Say I was playing a computer game and I wanted to click on a box in game everytime it flashed red. Something I could do manually but over a long run would prefer to be automatic.

BetSemes: I know of both but have tried neither. Which would you recommend for this sort of thing?

I'll take this time to warn you, this would be classified as cheating and we will not help with it.

That isn't what I want it for, it was the simplest example I could think of.

I've looked into it and I here javascript is something good to start with. I'm going to look into writing a program that will alert me when I get a certain message from a website by defining what I want it to search for and then alerting me when it meets this criteria.
