How can I restore the normal default layout of the windows on Spyder?

Posted 19 April 2016 - 02:32 PM

Hi,

I accidentally held the left click button for merely a tenth of a second, and that's all it took to completely screw up the entire layout of the windows on Spyder...

I tried to close Spyder and open it again, but the layout of the windows didn't change back (it remained bad).

I tried to do: View > Reset window layout > Yes. But it didn't do much...

I tried to reorganize the windows myself, but couldn't succeed...

So how can I restore the normal default layout of the windows?

Note that I'm on:
- Spyder version 2.3.8
- Python version 3.5
- Anaconda version 2.4.1 (64-bit)
- Windows version 10.

Thanks in advance for your answers.

Thanks, but I'm a newbie so I don't understand where I should type "spyder --reset" and where can I find the option
"hexstate" (section "main") in $HOME/.spyder2/.spyder.ini ?
Furthermore, would typing "spyder --reset" also delete all the scripts and lines of code I saved on Spyder?

I don't have Ananconda, I installed via WinPython, but, in the WinPython folder, there is "Spyder (reset).exe" alongside the "Spyder.exe" executable.

Also, in this 'home' folder/location, there is a settings folder containing the .spyder2 subfolder and .spyder.ini file.

I doubt very much that running that (reset) file would delete my code files. Investigate further if you are concerned, or just copy them to a temporary location.

I just ran a quick test and (reset) didn't delete my file from the scripts folder (it did reset my chosen font though).
