I'm not recreating all the functionality of EF, just the class generation part. I'll do this by utilizing T4 templates. I'll send a query to a database with some provided default values, analyze the result set that is returned by putting it into a DataTable object, then generate the resulting class via the T4 template generation. I already have T4 set up to auto-generate all of our services based off a service configuration table in our database. This would simply be 2 more steps in that process.

Re: What are you working on today?

Spent the morning clearing most of my tickets. The estimates I had on them averaged 2 days, and that was accurate, but being intimately familiar with that section of code recently made it go far faster than if I had done it in a few months.
I have two tickets waiting on someone else, and one that I just don't want to deal with right now.
I mentioned in the morning standup I would leave at noon, jokingly. Now, I am not so sure it was a joke.

Apparently I'm going to die in my sleep tonight due to tornadoes.

We actually had a tornado form near my house last week. And by near my house, I mean I was standing in the garage looking up at the clouds rotating. I didn't see a funnel, but there's video of it. And the position of the funnel in the video leads me to believe I didn't see it because I was almost directly beneath it.
Fortunately the garage I was in handled the winds just fine. But dayum.

Spent the day working on a bug that involves three different modules. Been a real pain in the ass. Was also working on a mockup for a possible new look at feel for site. The PO was quite happy with it when we reviewed it. He really impressed with some of the elements that I included. He would like me to figure out what kind of effort would be involved to change the themes.

Client: when is our single sign-on going to be implemented, we need to use it ASAP!
Me: here's the information to configure your Active Directory server so that we can start testing.
Client: OK we'll set it up in 2 weeks lol

Reminds me of one,
New feature request goes into qa shortly after I started with the new company (november). I wasn't keeping track of my tickets really. In February, I get a status update email, that it is okay to move to production. I'm thinking it had already.
We had migrated and trimmed old branches from the version control database. I had to cherry pick the commits to rebuild what I had done. Now, I stay more on my tickets, but it was a complete pain.

@Dep No, I didn't get the money. I did get an all inclusive resort package to any one of a number of destinations around the world.
I knew as soon as I pulled up exactly what was going on. The lady who intercepted us took us into one of the sales offices and proceeded to ask me all kinds of personal questions while trying to distract me with questions about the family. I let her go on until the point she wanted my SSN and monthly income. Figured I'd waist as much of her time as I could. We then proceeded to check the "Winners board" for my numbers and I guess It wasn't all bad.
Today I am going to be cleaning up some code and doing testing for release tonight. I also have another interview this afternoon with a guy that I think would fit in perfectly here. Hopefully he interviews as well as he did on the phone.

Just curious, past few posts sound like QC talk.
